East McDowell Junior High School
Traveling I-40 East or West, take Exit #86; take a right at end of ramp. Go 0.9 mi, turn right on Rutherford Road. Continue 1.9 miles and Rutherford Road merges into South Main Street. Continue for 0.3 miles then turn right on to State Street. Go 0.6 miles and East McDowell Junior High School will be on your right.
The following is a list of directions to the schools in which we compete with in athletic events.
Directions to schools:
East Burke Middle School
Take 1-40 East to Icard Exit (116) Take the road to left side of Burger King. School is about ¼ mile on left.
Heritage Middle School
I-40 East to Drexel Exit (107). Turn right, go to traffic light and turn right. Go approx. ½ mile to traffic light; turn left onto Enon Rd., go about 2 mi. and Heritage will be on the right.
Liberty Middle School
I-40 East to Enola Rd. (104), turn right onto Enola Rd. School is on the left approx. 1 mile.
Table Rock Middle School
Hwy 70 E from Marion to Glen Alpine. In Glen Alpine turn left onto Bridgewater (4 lane bridge). After crossing the bridge continue straight at the 4-way stop. Follow this road about 3 miles and the school will be on your left.
Walter Johnson
Take I-40 West. Take Exit 100. Turn left onto Jamestown Road. Follow Jamestown Rd. until you get to the first traffic light. Turn right onto Carbon City Road/Hwy 70. Go to the next traffic light and turn left onto Sanford Drive. Follow the by-pass until you reach the intersection with Hwy 18. (It will be the second intersection.) Turn left onto Hwy 18N. Go across the Catawba River bridge. As you crest the hill, the school will be on your left, across from Catawba Valley Baptist Church.
Saluda Middle School William Lenoir Middle School Harris Middle School
221 South to Rutherfordton. Stay on 221 through Rutherfordton to Highway 74. Exit right on 74 West and stay on 74 to I-26 West. Go West on I-26 to Exit 28, Saluda. Then go left onto Ozone Drive, then about 1 mile to 176 go right. Then you will see the school.
I-40 to exit 100 and turn left. Go straight until you come to a Hardees and then turn right. Go to the next traffic light and turn left. Go to the next traffic light and turn left onto Highway 18. Go into Lenoir, past the furniture plants and you will pass McDonalds on the left and at the next traffic light turn right. Go about 100 yards to the next traffic light and turn left onto Highway 321. Go by Wal-Mart and at the top of the hill, at the traffic light turn left onto Glen Haven Dr. Go to the 2nd road on the right and turn right and the school is at the bottom.
Take 226 North to Spruce Pine. Take a left at the 1st traffic light. Take a left as well at the next traffic light. Harris Middle School is the first main road to the left.
